Director of Azerbaijan National Library was
on an official trip to Switzerland, Bern
on 1-6 May, 2011. Within framework of
this trip was signed Memorandum on mutual
cooperation between Azerbaijan National
Library and National Library of Switzerland
on May 4, 2011. Memorandum was signed
among Karim Tahirov on behalf of Azerbaijan
Republic and Mrs. Marie-Christine Doffey on
behalf of Switzerland Confederation.
At the National Library was opened wide exhibition “Remarkable ophthalmologist”
devoted to the remarkable Azerbaijan ophthalmologist, academician of Azerbaijan
Academy of sciences, doctor of medicine, Professor Zarifa Eliyeva on
April 27, 2011. Documents reflecting remarkable Scientific's life and
activity were demonstrated at exhibition. Exhibition
will
be
continued
during
a
week.
At

enlightener, teacher, writer, translator, journalist, and the author of several
dictionaries, textbooks, fiction, and feuilletons Sultanmajid Ganizade’s
145 year anniversary on April 22, 2011.
At the National Library was opened wide exhibition “Remarkable ophthalmologist”
devoted to the remarkable Azerbaijan ophthalmologist, academician of Azerbaijan
Academy of sciences, doctor of medicine, Professor Zarifa Eliyeva on
April 27, 2011. Documents reflecting remarkable Scientific's life and

to Turkey and attended ceremonies devoted to the 65 year anniversary of
National Library of Turkey on 14-17 April, 2011. Head of the East

Library
of Hungary,
Krim-tatar
Library, and
North Cyprus
Turkish Republic also participated at this ceremony.
Within framework of these ceremonies
was held conference “Place of the
National Libraries in intercultural
relationship”.
Professor of
Berlin Humboldt University in Germany Dr. Mrs. Eva-Maria Aux with motion of
Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited Azerbaijan National Library on April
12, 2011. During her visit she noted that Azerbaijan history chair
opened in Berlin Humboldt University and she is the head of this chair. In spite
of the education here in Azerbaijani but we suffer from luck of the literature
in Azerbaijani.
For the
purpose of teaching and propagating Azerbaijani history, Azerbaijani truth the
issue of sending encyclopedias, dictionaries and also books in Azerbaijani books
printed with Latin script via international book exchange service to the library
of Berlin Humboldt University.
At
the National Library was opened wide exhibition “31st of the March – Genocide
Day of Azerbaijan People”. Exhibition will continue whole week long.
